ADNOC and artificial-intelligence firm G42 signed an agreement with OpenAI on November 2, 2026, to integrate advanced AI capabilities across the Abu Dhabi energy company’s operations. The deal was announced during OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman’s visit to the emirate, where he met Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and attended ADIPEC, the United Arab Emirates’ largest oil show. A broader announcement described four OpenAI agreements with Abu Dhabi entities covering government services, energy, investment and education, including a Machine-Readable Government initiative and ADNOC’s deployment of OpenAI frontier technology through G42. The agreements are part of Abu Dhabi’s effort to expand its artificial-intelligence ecosystem and came amid heightened security concerns and market sensitivity to possible further US-Iran military action.
