Fresenius has signed a development agreement with China’s WuXi Biologics that provides exclusive access to up to 37 identified biosimilar candidates over the next decade. Biosimilar drugs are highly similar versions of already approved medicines. The candidates address more than €370 billion ($414 billion) in originator sales and could expand Fresenius’ molecule portfolio from 29 to as many as 66. The portfolio covers 13 therapeutic areas and includes monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates and fusion proteins. Fresenius confirmed its financial targets for 2026 and the medium term, while saying it expected to significantly raise its long-term Biopharma ambitions.
