An unidentified European Union entity is suspected of losing more than $106 million from several centralized-exchange accounts on Sunday, although the reported loss has not been independently confirmed. Pseudonymous blockchain investigator ZachXBT said the funds were withdrawn in USDC and USDT before being exchanged partly for Ether, routed through WellWallet and Kyrrex, converted into Monero through Wagyu and moved across multiple blockchains. He published 11 Ethereum addresses associated with the theft and said the laundering patterns made it highly unlikely that Lazarus Group was responsible. The victim and the access method remain unknown, and it is unclear whether any funds have been frozen. The incident followed the record-setting Binance theft, reported in different accounts at $6.3 billion and $6.4 billion and attributed by the FBI to North Korean hackers known as TraderTraitor. In that case, Tether froze stolen USDT on Ethereum within 37 minutes and Circle froze $823 million in USDC, helping immobilize about 44% of the proceeds, while the remaining funds were spread across roughly 12,000 wallets. The wider week also included reported attacks involving Mercado Bitcoin and BTCPay Server, as well as a separate suspected $786,000 loss involving a Solana arbitrage-bot wallet.
