South Korea and Bulgaria reaffirmed cooperation on Bulgaria’s Kozloduy nuclear power plant project and discussed ways to expand bilateral economic ties at their third joint economic committee meeting in Sofia on Monday. The session was co-chaired by Park Jong-han, South Korea’s deputy minister for economic affairs, and Krasimir Yakimov, Bulgaria’s deputy economic minister. The committee had reconvened after seven years and reviewed cooperation in trade, investment, defense, nuclear energy, transportation, science and technology, and digital industries. Both sides said successful implementation of the project to build two new reactors would be an important milestone in bilateral economic cooperation and pledged to work closely to advance it.
