Domestic sales of Samsung Electronics Co.’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 in South Korea rose about 20% from the previous week after Apple Inc. launched its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, industry sources said. The increase was attributed to consumer recognition of Samsung’s hinge technology and product durability, as well as the user experience provided by its artificial intelligence features. The Galaxy Z8 series had previously set a record for Samsung smartphone presales in Korea, with 1.44 million units sold during its July presale period. Samsung also extended New Galaxy AI Subscription Club sign-ups to Nov. 30 and expanded year-end purchase benefits, including trade-in compensation and holiday rewards.
