Cross River Bank plans to tokenize loans at origination and deploy the service on Arbitrum One in early 2027 after completing a proof of concept. The November 3 announcement confirmed a partnership with Offchain, the company behind Arbitrum, while ZeroDev will provide embedded wallet technology. The proposed infrastructure would keep funding, ownership transfers, payments and servicing on a shared blockchain record throughout a loan's lifecycle, while borrowers continue using existing applications and repayment interfaces. Cross River will remain the regulated lender and lender of record, retaining responsibility for underwriting, risk management and compliance. The companies say the model could support programmable lending, continuous loan-purchase agreements, flexible investment commitments, easier loan transfers and access to international credit investors, although no lending volume or commercial commitments have been disclosed. The initiative broadens Arbitrum's institutional push into lending, but does not establish a revenue-sharing arrangement or token-purchase commitment involving ARB; Arbitrum One uses ETH for transaction fees.
