Intel shares rose more than 3% Tuesday as semiconductor stocks rebounded from the previous session’s 28.58% plunge, although investors continued to assess weak fourth-quarter guidance against longer-term opportunities in data centers, foundry and advanced packaging. Intel reported third-quarter adjusted EPS of 52 cents and revenue of $16.51 billion, but forecast fourth-quarter adjusted EPS of 25 cents and revenue of $15 billion-$16 billion, below estimates of 43 cents and approximately $17.05 billion. Bank of America Securities downgraded Intel to Neutral, citing multi-quarter pressure from PCs and substantial upfront capital needs, while KeyBanc retained an Overweight rating and pointed to potential external foundry and packaging opportunities exceeding $30 billion by 2030. Moor Insights & Strategy remained constructive on the manufacturing recovery, while Tastytrade’s Tom Sosnoff described Intel as arguably oversold but warned that trading could remain choppy. Intel had gained more than 65% in 2026, compared with nearly 130% for AMD, 200% for Micron and 12% for NVIDIA. The stock was up 1.68% at $60.98 at publication, according to Benzinga Pro. Intel has a Hold consensus rating and an average price target of $99.
