Mercado Bitcoin, a Brazilian crypto exchange, said assets affected by a security incident were currently valued at about $36.3 million, of which $12.9 million had been frozen. The platform and app remain suspended while the company works to confirm that services are safe to restore. Mercado Bitcoin said customer assets are protected and balances remain recorded in their respective accounts. The exchange had previously reported freezing $11 million in related assets, while the work continues, PANews reported on Nov. 3.
