Binance had not carried out its planned November Terra Classic (LUNC) token burn by Nov. 3, breaking a sequence of burns conducted nearly monthly at the beginning of each month since March 2023. StatsBin data identified the omission. Binance’s last recorded burn, on Oct. 1, removed about 334.88 million LUNC, bringing community records to 50 Binance burn batches. The exchange has pledged to burn half of the trading fees generated by LUNC transactions, while its policy allows fee calculations through the fifth of each month. A Terra Classic contributor suggested wallet-security changes may have delayed the transfer. Community members also linked the delay to Binance’s roughly $6.3 billion hacking incident in late October, although Binance has not confirmed the reason.
