Daewoo Engineering & Construction has received a Letter of Award from IF FZE, Indorama’s Nigerian subsidiary, for the Indorama Fertilizer Train 4 Project in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The 350.0 billion won ($253.02 million) project will produce 2,300 tons of ammonia, 4,000 tons of urea and 4,000 tons of granular urea per day. Daewoo E&C will serve as the main contractor and manage the entire construction process. The award follows the company’s completion of Indorama’s Trains 1, 2 and 3 and related auxiliary facilities. Train 3 was completed on May 30 after milestone targets were achieved ahead of schedule, strengthening the client’s confidence in Daewoo E&C’s project management. The company has completed 75 Nigerian projects worth about $10.8 billion since entering the market in 1983, and about 290 projects across 11 African countries since 1977. It is also the preferred bidder for projects in Mozambique and Papua New Guinea, with final contracts pending, and plans to pursue additional high-value energy infrastructure work by using its technical capabilities, accumulated experience and local networks.
