BitGo has launched BitGo Global Markets, an institutional financial-services division led by former NYDIG executive Pete Janney. The unit integrates NYDIG’s institutional trading business, acquired by BitGo on Aug. 27, and adds about 30 employees. It will provide spot and block over-the-counter trading, crypto-collateralized financing, options, swaps, bespoke structured products, asset-management strategies, private funds and research services. BitGo’s BitGo Prime business, operating since 2020, will be folded into the division, while Go Network will handle clearing and settlement. The launch combines BitGo’s custody and settlement infrastructure with trading and financing capabilities for institutional clients. BitGo shares, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under BTGO, rose 3.4% in Wednesday premarket trading.
