Crescendo Equity Partners has completed the first closing of its fourth blind fund, targeting $1 billion in total commitments. More than $350 million came from global institutional investors, representing over 70% of the fund's $500 million overseas target. Additional foreign investors are considering commitments, while major South Korean institutions are conducting due diligence. The fund will target mid-sized technology companies in semiconductors, electronics and electrical engineering, B2B software, and cybersecurity, acquiring management rights in businesses valued at 50 billion to 500 billion Korean won and scaling them through follow-up M&A (mergers and acquisitions). Crescendo plans to draw on connections to Silicon Valley and the global network of Peter Thiel, whose Thiel Capital executives participate in investment decisions. Since its establishment, the firm has invested 1.5162 trillion Korean won in 29 companies and currently manages three blind funds and 10 project funds, with approximately 1.8 trillion Korean won in cumulative AUM (assets under management).
