EcoPro BM reported preliminary consolidated third-quarter revenue of 557.9 billion won ($380 million) and operating profit of 12 billion won ($8.2 million) on the 5th, down 10.7% and 76.2% from a year earlier. Despite weaker electric vehicle battery demand, the company extended its profitable streak to seven quarters, supported by rising energy storage system, or ESS, demand linked to artificial intelligence data centers. Lower cathode-material sales for EVs were the main drag, with slowing North American demand and inventory adjustments by European automakers reducing EV-related revenue to 256.1 billion won from the previous quarter. ESS cathode-material revenue rose 173% quarter on quarter to 123.6 billion won, while power-application revenue increased 16% to 169.7 billion won. EcoPro BM is operating two lines in Debrecen, Hungary, and has completed its equity investment in Indonesia's BNSI nickel smelter, which is preparing for commercial operation in the first half of 2027.
