Visa said on Nov. 5 that it will establish six global capability centers at a new base in Singapore’s Paya Lebar Quarter, bringing together more than 1,500 specialists. The teams will work on agentic commerce, stablecoins, programmable payments, cybersecurity and quantum computing, alongside artificial intelligence, digital currencies, wallets and alternative payment methods. Visa plans to expand research, engineering and innovation roles, with DBS, Nium and StraitsX among its partners. Singapore’s Economic Development Board said the investment would create high-value jobs. Visa has already launched USDC settlement in the United States and says stablecoins can support faster cross-border payments and programmable money. The expansion follows Visa’s July plan to cut about 2,600 jobs, or 7% of its global workforce, while reinvesting in priority opportunities.
