OpenAI’s enterprise business overtook consumer revenue in the third quarter, as new tools for agentic software coding gained traction, co-founder and President Greg Brockman said at a Wall Street Journal tech conference in Napa, California. Brockman described the first half of the year as difficult and said rival Anthropic had pulled ahead with business customers during that period. He also said OpenAI could be ready for an initial public offering in 2027, replying, "I think so" when asked whether the company would be ready next year. Reuters has reported that San Francisco-based OpenAI is accelerating fundraising after delaying its IPO plans.
