Samsung Display is partnering with AOC, ASUS, HKC, MSI, TitanArmy and ViewSonic to promote QD-OLED monitors in China’s internet cafes, or i-cafes, while LG Display is expanding partnerships around high-refresh-rate OLED panels for premium gaming infrastructure, including i-cafes and gaming hotels. Samsung’s selected venues can receive official certification if they install at least 30 QD-OLED monitors. The company had designated 10 venues in major cities including Beijing and Shanghai by October and plans to reach 60 by year-end. I-cafes account for approximately 30% to 40% of gaming OLED monitor sales in China and provide consumers with hands-on demonstrations. China had approximately 97,000 i-cafes in 2025, up 17% from 83,000 a year earlier, while the country’s gaming market had approximately 680 million users. IDC said gaming monitor sales more than doubled to 11.12 million units in 2025 from 4.93 million in 2023, while self-emissive gaming monitor sales rose approximately 22-fold to 560,000 units. Samsung is also expanding QD-OLED partnerships globally and plans to begin mass production of 24.5-inch full HD panels for eSports and FPS gaming by year-end.
