South Korea’s Mirae Asset Group has named Noh Yong-woo, a vice president at Mirae Asset Securities, to lead DigitalX, formerly Korbit, marking the first management change since the group took control of the crypto exchange. Noh’s appointment will become official after the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit accepts the filing on the CEO change and shareholders approve it. Mirae Asset also appointed Woo Shin-je, a managing director at Mirae Asset Global Investments, to head Mirae Asset Energy Infrastructure Asset Management. Woo is expected to broaden investments beyond renewable power generation into power grids, energy storage systems and infrastructure for artificial-intelligence data centers. Mirae Asset Securities co-CEOs and Vice Chairmen Kim Mi-seop and Hur Sun-ho, and Mirae Asset Global Investments Vice Chairmen Lee Jun-yong and Choi Chang-hoon, will remain in their posts and are expected to be reappointed at next year’s shareholder meetings. The reshuffle supports the group’s Mirae Asset 3.0 strategy and emphasizes AI transformation, digital technology, information security, wealth management and pension sales. Of 128 executives promoted, 20% came from AI transformation, digital technology and information-security specialties; 64% were in their 40s and 17% were women. Mirae Asset said it will overhaul its group-wide AI transformation framework, strengthen information security and embed AI and digital technology across its businesses.
