SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won sold 1,653,924 SK Inc. shares for about 944.0 billion won ($704 million) to prepare for the asset division payment ordered in his divorce case with Roh So-yeong, director of Art Center Nabi. His holdings declined from 12,975,472 shares to 11,321,548, while his stake fell from 17.76% to 15.49%. The shares were sold through after-hours block trading in two transactions: 972,493 shares at 559,387 won each for about 544.0 billion won and 681,431 shares at 587,000 won each for about 400.0 billion won. The sale followed a disposal plan announced on Oct. 2 to raise personal funds. SK Group had said it would pursue the sale alongside a stock sale and purchase agreement with strategic investors and a combined transaction involving a price return swap, or PRS, with a securities firm to limit market impact. The Seoul High Court ruled in July that Chey must pay Roh 944.0 billion won. Chey appealed again in August, but is not disputing 700.0 billion won and is seeking a Supreme Court ruling on the remaining 244.0 billion won. The Supreme Court finalized the couple’s divorce in October 2025, while the asset division dispute continued. Separately, SK Inc. disclosed that Vice Chairman Jang Dong-hyun, who also serves as CEO of SK Ecoplant, ended his special relationship with the company after leading its restructuring since late 2023.
