Amundi, a major European asset manager within Crédit Agricole Group, launched an Ethereum-based tokenized share class on Nov. 5 for its Core STOXX Europe 600 fund, extending its blockchain investment products beyond the AMUNDI FUNDS CASH EUR money market fund and its AMUNDI FUNDS CASH EUR - J28 EUR DLT (C) tokenized class. Amundi manages approximately ¥456 trillion in assets. Investors receive units in the existing fund rather than blockchain-issued shares in the 600 underlying companies. Developed with asset-servicing partner CACEIS, the structure uses technology and infrastructure to issue fund units on public Ethereum while Amundi continues operating the fund as before and preserves access through traditional channels. The portfolio remains unchanged. Amundi says tokenization can simplify some processes, speed settlement and broaden distribution, but its announcement did not provide settlement-time or cost estimates or clarify whether units could be traded at any time or through an active secondary market. The STOXX Europe 600 tracks large, mid-sized and small companies across developed European markets. Amundi plans to develop additional tokenized funds for institutional clients and digital platforms. RWA.xyz data showed tokenized equities at $4.24 billion, up nearly 27% over 30 days, with the 10 largest products tied to U.S. companies or U.S.-listed securities.
