A social media claim says Kazakhstan invested $100 million in crypto funds, including Brevan Howard Digital, but searches of news coverage, fund databases and regulatory disclosures have found no official confirmation from the Kazakh government, the National Bank of Kazakhstan or the state-linked Alem Crypto Fund. Kazakhstan has nevertheless been building documented exposure to digital assets. It launched the Alem Crypto Fund in September 2025 for long-term investment and strategic reserves, reportedly beginning with BNB tokens acquired through a partnership with Binance Kazakhstan. Separately, the National Bank of Kazakhstan is considering allocating $300 million to $350 million from reserve funds to crypto-related instruments such as exchange-traded funds and stakes in high-tech companies, rather than buying tokens directly. Plans have also cited expanding a national crypto reserve fund to $500 million to $1 billion by early 2026. Brevan Howard Digital, the crypto arm of the London-founded macro hedge fund Brevan Howard, returned 51.3% in 2024 before losing 30% in 2025. Until an official source confirms the $100 million figure or names specific managers, the investment remains an unverified claim.
