Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a criminal complaint against BG Limited, Bitget’s operating company, alleging the exchange provided unlicensed digital-asset services in the country from 2022 to 2025. The SEC said Bitget facilitated trading and charged fees through a Thai-language website, baht-equivalent price displays and Thai-language accounts on X, Telegram and TikTok. The complaint also names Kritsana Kritsananuwat, whom the regulator accused of promoting Bitget and its campaigns through the Srisiam Facebook page and SRISIAM YouTube channel. The SEC has asked the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to block Bitget’s website, related domains and application from Dec. 5, 2026. The case has been referred to the Economic Crime Suppression Division for investigation, possible prosecution and court adjudication. Users were advised to take necessary steps regarding assets held on the platform before restrictions begin. Bitget did not immediately respond to Cointelegraph’s request for comment.
