IPX, formerly LINE FRIENDS, plans to introduce minicoin payments at its online and offline stores in Korea and overseas through a phased rollout targeted for the first half of 2027. The service would provide another way to buy physical merchandise while connecting character-IP engagement with commerce and a Web3 ecosystem. Minicoin is a utility coin developed and issued by Mini Labs under an official IPX license for the minini character IP. Its blockchain-based ecosystem is designed to record activities arising from interactions between fans and IP, including creation, consumption and transactions, and connect them with registration and settlement processes. The initiative builds on IPX’s global retail and entertainment operations, including K-POP SQUARE, which attracted more than one million visitors in its first year, approximately 80% of them international fans from more than 90 countries. IPX operates in 18 markets, runs eight online sales platforms and manages IP including BT21, ZO&FRIENDS, minini and JOGUMAN.
