Doosan Corp. has signed an investment agreement with Changshu in China’s Jiangsu province to build copper-clad laminate (CCL) production lines near its existing factory. The project is the Chinese portion of a previously announced investment plan worth approximately 970 billion won, including about 550 billion won for China. Doosan will develop an approximately 185,000-square-meter site, with construction and investment carried out in stages through 2028 and the new lines expected to begin operating sequentially in the second half of that year. CCL is a core material used in advanced microchips, artificial-intelligence servers and smartphones. The expansion follows a 399.2 billion-won agreement for a dedicated optical-module CCL facility in Gimje, South Korea, and an April plan for a new Thailand factory, supporting a production network across South Korea, China and Thailand.
