Daesang has shipped about 20 tons of South Korean-made lysine to Brazil, marking its first entry into the livestock powerhouse’s feed-additive market. The shipment left Gunsan on Nov. 6 after the company secured approval from Brazilian authorities. Daesang plans to supply about 1,200 tons next year and target annual exports worth $2 million, or about 2.7 billion won. Brazil ranks first globally in beef production, third in chicken and fourth in pork, creating significant potential for feed additives and veterinary medicines while complex approval procedures have challenged South Korean companies. Government support helped Daesang register its Korean manufacturing facility and complete product approval, and the company plans to adjust volumes to local demand while pursuing broader Central and South American expansion.
