North Korea’s 15th Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA) Standing Committee decided to recall one vice chairman and a committee member at its second plenary meeting Thursday, state media said Friday. The officials were not named, but Ri Son-gwon may be the recalled vice chairman because Vice Chairman Kim Hyong-sik presided over the meeting. The committee also adopted decrees amending the construction and precious metal management laws without disclosing details. The construction revision may relate to Kim Jong-un’s regional development policy, launched in 2024 to build modern factories, hospitals and other service facilities in 20 cities and counties each year for 10 years.
