Kalshi said trading volume in markets tied to the 2026 U.S. midterm elections reached about $2.5 billion by Nov. 8, nearly double the $1.3 billion recorded during the 2024 midterm elections. The platform said its prediction markets reflected results hours ahead of broadcasters in most races and showed a high probability of a Democratic victory, although the scale of that victory was not fully reflected relative to earlier expectations. Through the morning of Nov. 4, favored candidates had won 479 contests, producing an accuracy rate of about 98%. The markets covered House, Senate and gubernatorial races, along with contests for state attorney general, lieutenant governor and secretary of state. Kalshi plans to expand into overseas elections and create a dedicated page for the 2028 U.S. presidential election, covering expected candidates, party nominations and the eventual winner.
