Metaplanet has disclosed the acquisition of 780 Bitcoin, increasing its total holdings to 17,132 BTC, valued at approximately $1.7 billion. Despite this growth, the company's stock has dropped nearly 40% recently, attributed to valuation concerns and broader market trends. Metaplanet aims to acquire 210,000 BTC by 2027, but its global ranking among Bitcoin holders has slipped to 7th place. Additionally, Remixpoint, another Tokyo-based firm, has begun accumulating Bitcoin, reflecting a growing trend among Japanese companies.
