
Metaplanet’s ¥204.1 billion share issuance will bolster its Bitcoin reserves with a ¥183.7 billion allocation, marking a significant step in its growing institutional Bitcoin strategy.
Metaplanet announced plans to raise approximately ¥204.1 billion ($13.66 billion) through an international share issuance, with ¥183.7 billion set aside for Bitcoin purchases. The company will issue 385 million new shares, increasing its total capital to 1.141 billion shares. Metaplanet already holds 20,000 BTC, valued at ¥3.22 trillion as of September 1. Additionally, the company aims to expand its Bitcoin options trading business, which generated ¥109.4 billion in revenue in FY2025 Q2.
