The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Exponential Science Foundation officially announced the creation of the Government Blockchain Academy, which will support governments in adopting blockchain, cryptocurrency tools, and artificial intelligence. The academy will launch at TOKEN2049 in Singapore on October 1–2, 2025, with country programs beginning in 2026 after preparatory work in 2025. It will provide training, workshops, online courses, and leadership forums tailored to public sector officials, aiming to address development challenges in finance, governance, supply chains, climate action, and digital identity. According to UNDP Innovation Team Leader Irena Cerovic, the academy will help governments transition from experimentation to implementation. Paolo Tasca of Exponential Science described it as a framework to equip governments with the tools and talent required for digital transformation.
