In an official announcement, Linea said it will shift its Ethereum Layer-2 architecture to RISC-V. The project stated that Ethereum hard forks currently require full rewrites of constraint modules, while RISC-V offers 32 registers and about 40 instructions with narrower execution traces. Linea said more technical details about the architecture change will be released in the coming weeks.
