According to the U.S. Department of Justice, eligible OneCoin victims who bought the fraudulent cryptocurrency between 2014 and 2019 can apply for compensation by June 30, 2026.
The U.S. Department of Justice said victims of the OneCoin fraud may seek compensation through a federal remission process funded by more than $40 million in forfeited assets tied to the scheme’s proceeds. The program applies to victims who purchased OneCoin between 2014 and 2019, and submissions must be mailed, emailed, or filed online with supporting documents by June 30, 2026. The DOJ has described OneCoin as a fraudulent cryptocurrency sold through a global multi-level marketing network and said the scheme caused more than $4 billion in losses worldwide. The forfeited assets are linked to proceeds traced to people behind the fraud, including co-founders Ruja Ignatova and Karl Sebastian Greenwood. The DOJ Criminal Division’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section is handling the compensation process.
