Lloyd’s shipping data indicates most vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz in April were linked to Iran, underscoring continued Iranian routing influence despite earlier reports of U.S. blockade pressure.
Lloyd’s shipping data showed that 81% of vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz in April were linked to Iran, adding broader context to earlier reports that two ships departing Iran had transited the waterway. Since April 13, about 15 of 27 large commercial ships used Iran’s mandated coastal route, while others traveled to Bandar Abbas. The data also noted that the sanctioned tanker RHN entered the Persian Gulf on Wednesday.
