Meta has begun paying select creators in USDC through Stripe on Solana and Polygon, expanding the rollout beyond Colombia and the Philippines to include eligible users in the United States.
Meta has begun paying select creators in USDC stablecoin via Stripe on the Solana and Polygon networks, marking Facebook’s first crypto payout program since the company abandoned Libra, later Diem, under regulatory pressure. Earlier coverage said the rollout was limited to Colombia and the Philippines, but the new report states select creators in the United States are also receiving the payouts. Eligible creators can connect third-party crypto wallets to Facebook’s payout platform and receive USDC directly, while Meta does not convert the funds into local currency. The program uses externally issued USDC rather than a Meta-issued token.
