According to the report, SC Ventures invested in GSR at a valuation above $1 billion to support tokenization, liquidity provision, and institutional digital asset infrastructure while deepening links between traditional finance and crypto.
SC Ventures, the innovation and ventures arm of Standard Chartered, has become the first external strategic shareholder in crypto market maker GSR since 2013. According to the report, the investment valued GSR at more than $1 billion, and GSR is also discussing up to $150 million in additional fundraising. The firms said the partnership is intended to strengthen integration between traditional finance and crypto markets, expand access to tokenized products, and support GSR’s growth in tokenization, liquidity provision, and institutional-grade digital asset market infrastructure. The relationship builds on their earlier connection through Libeara, a tokenization platform backed by SC Ventures.
