The Japanese snack maker says the change will roll out later this month as a severe naphtha (petrochemical feedstock) shortage affects paints and inks used in packaging.
Calbee is changing the packaging of 14 products to monochrome designs in response to a severe naphtha shortage linked to the ongoing Iran war. Naphtha is a petrochemical feedstock used in paints and inks, which can affect printed packaging materials. The updated packaging is scheduled to reach store shelves later this month.
