
Japan’s Nikkei 225 also opened higher on Monday, rising 1.30%, as South Korean chip heavyweights extended early gains.
South Korean stocks opened sharply higher on June 15, with the KOSPI index rising 425.23 points, or 5.23%, to 8,548.85. Japan’s Nikkei 225 also advanced at the Monday open, gaining 858.13 points, or 1.30%, to 66,878.17. In South Korea, SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics both climbed more than 6%, underscoring broad early strength in major technology names.
