A federal judge in San Francisco dismissed xAI's lawsuit accusing OpenAI of stealing trade secrets, ruling that xAI did not show OpenAI induced former xAI engineer Xuechen Li to misappropriate confidential information or disclose trade secrets in recruiting presentations. Judge Rita Lin denied leave to amend, saying further changes to the complaint would be futile, in a decision that marked another loss for Elon Musk in his broader dispute with OpenAI. The setback follows the rejection by a federal jury last month of Musk's separate lawsuit against OpenAI, Sam Altman and Greg Brockman.
