Block, formerly Square, said its AI-native developer toolkit Builderbot now accounts for about 15% of production code changes, highlighting how automated software development tools are taking on a larger role in day-to-day engineering work. The update has renewed attention on Block’s roughly 40% layoffs in February, which founder Jack Dorsey attributed to rapidly improving AI capabilities.
