Oobit has connected its payment app to Brazil central bank’s PIX instant payment network, allowing users to add funds in Brazilian real, convert those balances into USDT and use the stablecoin for everyday payments. The Tether-backed company said transfers can be sent to any PIX Key or completed through QR codes, while blockchain settlement is processed behind the scenes. The tie-in gives Oobit access to one of Brazil’s most widely used payment rails, with PIX reaching nearly 170 million users.
