Tuya Smart outlines AI commercialization strategy at Summer Davos 2026

Tuya Smart used the World Economic Forum’s 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, China, to set out its view of the next phase of artificial intelligence commercialization and deployment. Alex Yang, Co-Founder, COO, and CFO of Tuya Smart, took part in sessions including “China's Lobster Fever,” “AI and Future Growth,” and “Owning the Interface: Strategy in the Age of AI Agents,” where he argued that China’s rapid AI uptake reflects a large developer base, strong willingness among consumers and businesses to test new technologies, and a broader push for development and progress. Yang said Tuya is applying AI across smart home and energy use cases, including tools that use standardized AI modules and a developer community to lower product-building barriers, and energy systems that integrate dynamic electricity pricing data from more than 800 utility companies across Europe to optimize loads and reduce costs. He also said AI monetization is moving from usage-based pricing toward outcome-driven, value-based pricing, and that companies that build AI-native organizations and talent will be best placed to benefit. Tuya said it plans to keep expanding AI Home, AI Energy and AI Robot applications through an open developer ecosystem. As of Mar 31, 2026, the Tuya AI Developer Platform had more than 1,970,000 registered AI developers from over 200 countries and regions.
