The Houston-based auto retailer also said Group 1 Collision Clear Lake, formerly Sterling McCall Collision Center of Clear Lake, has operated under its new name since Jan. 19, 2026, with no changes to ownership, staff or daily operations.
Group 1 Automotive, Inc. said Group 1 Collision Clear Lake, formerly Sterling McCall Collision Center of Clear Lake, is among the U.S. locations folded into its nationwide brand-alignment effort and has operated under the new name since Jan. 19, 2026. The Houston-based retailer said the change is intended to create a more consistent customer experience across its U.S. dealership and collision-center network while keeping the local team, repair capabilities and customer relationships in place. The Friendswood, Texas collision center continues to operate from 18160 Gulf Freeway on the same property as Lexus Clear Lake, serving drivers in Friendswood, Webster, League City, Clear Lake and nearby Bay Area communities with collision repair, bodywork, paint and refinishing, and post-repair support. Group 1 said the renaming did not alter ownership, staffing, repair capabilities or day-to-day operations, and that the site remains part of its network of 250 dealerships, 310 franchises and 32 collision centers across the United States and the United Kingdom, offering 37 vehicle brands.
