U.S. News & World Report has published its 2026-2027 Best Companies to Work For ratings, marking the first time the release includes both public and privately owned companies across 14 industries. The rankings evaluate 3,900 companies and identify the top 25% based on factors tied to employee experience, including pay and benefits, work-life balance and flexibility, stability, physical and psychological comfort, belongingness and esteem, and career development. The release also adds sublists for companies that support family caregivers and for internship experiences, while introducing a Durable Skills Assessment designed to give job seekers personalized insight into workplace strengths through July 31, 2026. Carly Chase, vice president of Careers at U.S. News, said changing worker needs, growing AI adoption and shifts in parental leave policies have made career decisions more uncertain for graduates, caregivers and other employees.
