Ferrari and BMW expand aluminium wiring as copper prices drive substitution

Nexans said roughly 10 trillion euros of global grid investment is expected by 2030 and that aluminium should capture a growing share because of its cost advantage and availability, even as copper remains the benchmark for demanding applications. In heating and cooling, Daikin said it is maximizing cost reductions by switching from copper to aluminium, while Lennox and Carrier have highlighted aluminium coils for lower weight and better corrosion resistance.
