Seventy crypto projects have announced closures so far in 2026, according to Web3 asset data platform RootData, which said the tally is still rising. The latest additions to its list span several segments of the market, including Layer 2 protocol (network built on top of a base chain) Loopring, lending blockchain UX, cross-chain settlement layer (infrastructure for transfers across blockchains) Everclear, and decentralized credit protocol (on-chain borrowing and lending system) Goldfinch.
