Iran says U.S. final-agreement talks hinge on meeting MOU conditions

Iran said further negotiations with the United States on a final agreement depend on implementing conditions in the memorandum of understanding, while Pakistan later said Doha meetings mediated by Qatar and Pakistan made “positive progress” on several memorandum-related issues. Tehran had said the timing and format of talks would be decided in the coming days and that some provisions were already underway, while Pakistan said the parties agreed to continue negotiations and set the next round as soon as possible after the funeral ceremony for Iran’s former Supreme Leader Khamenei. Separately, a U.S. official said Iranian assets will remain blocked until Tehran meets U.S. conditions, preserving leverage in the negotiations.
