CNN reported the configuration includes a northern route controlled by Iran, the conventional international shipping lane through the center that had been used before disruptions in the strait, and a southern route near Oman coordinated by Oman, the United States and the International Maritime Organization. Analysts say the presence of different route managers has made shipping order in the strait more complex.
