The Solana memecoin platform said the launch option created griefing, trader confusion and needless PVP, while existing agent-mode coins will remain unaffected.
Pump.fun has deprecated its Tokenized Agent launch option for new token launches, saying the feature caused excessive griefing, confusion among traders and unnecessary competition between coins. Co-founder Alon Cohen said the change is the first step in removing launch formats that do not add enough value to users, while existing coins that already enabled agent mode will continue unchanged. Cohen said the feature had originally been designed to help bootstrap on-chain agents with automated buyback and burn mechanics, and added that Pump.fun remains bullish on the sector even if the format could return later in a different form. The move drew broadly positive community reaction, though some traders linked the timing to rising attention around $ANSEM, a new token that surged 8,500% in two days to a $172 million market cap. Pump.fun has previously rolled back other features after misuse, including its live-streaming tool and scrutiny around a bounty posted on Pump Fun GO.
