Oil fell as indirect U.S.-Iran talks in Doha progressed, with WTI at $67.79 and Brent at $70.96, while Trump’s upbeat remarks helped ease supply-risk fears and supported broader risk sentiment including crypto.
President Donald Trump’s positive comments on U.S.-Iran negotiations helped lift crypto markets and pushed oil lower as investors reduced expectations of near-term conflict and Middle East supply disruption. On Wednesday, U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 1.15% to $67.79 a barrel and Brent crude dropped 0.85% to $70.96 after talks in Doha and Trump said negotiations in Qatar were "going well." He added, "The denuclearization of Iran is moving along well. They've had very good meetings and we'll see." Reports also said Trump had been briefed on full-scale war plans against Iran but chose negotiations instead. Further reporting said progress in the talks could stabilize oil markets, reduce energy costs and influence broader global economic conditions, including crypto trends.
