PeckShield counted 40 incidents in June, led by Humanity Protocol at more than $30 million, with compromised keys, deprecated products and cross-chain laundering featuring prominently.
Crypto platforms lost about $75.87 million across 40 hacks in June 2026, according to PeckShield, a 7.13% decline from May's $81.7 million. Humanity Protocol was the largest breach at more than $30 million after private keys backed up to a malware-infected developer machine were compromised. Quantstamp said the attacker used tooling and techniques commonly associated with North Korean hacking groups, while PeckShield said the proceeds were laundered across Bitcoin, Solana, Hyperliquid and BNB Chain and commingled with funds tied to the KelpDAO exploiter, suggesting a possible overlap in threat actors. Syscoin Bridge lost $10 million after an attacker minted unauthorized SYS tokens, JaredFromSubway.eth MEV bot lost $7.5 million, and Secret Network was drained for $4.67 million. Two deprecated Aztec-linked products, Aztec Payments Product and Aztec Connect, lost a combined roughly $4 million, while Polymarket users reportedly lost $3 million in a phishing campaign. SecondFi and TESSERA each recorded $2.4 million in losses, and Taiko Bridge rounded out the top 10 at $1.7 million. The month underscored how compromised keys, aging code and cross-chain fund movements remain recurring security risks for the sector.
