Quantum Systems raises $1.2 billion at about $8 billion valuation

The German defence startup said the Series D round will expand production, reinforce supply chains and fund software and AI as investor appetite for military technology accelerates.

Summary

German defence technology company Quantum Systems said it raised $1.2 billion in a Series D round at a post-money valuation of about $8 billion, extending a surge in investor backing for companies developing autonomous military systems. The company, which builds unmanned systems for land, air and sea, said the financing was co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus and Advent, with participation from Bond, Fidelity Management and Research Company, Balderton and HV Capital. Quantum Systems said it is profitable and will use the new capital to expand production capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience, scale deliveries across allied markets, and continue investing in software and AI capabilities. The fundraising comes as defence tech companies have raised a record $17.4 billion so far this year, according to Dealroom, above the $11.2 billion raised in 2025. Quantum Systems said its systems were deployed in Ukraine and executed more than 19,000 missions there in 2025, while the company has expanded production across Germany, Ukraine, the United States, Australia, Romania, the United Kingdom and the Baltics.
